Worked in the round, this simple hat style is easy to knit.
The flower detail created using fingering weight yarn—sewn on after the hat is felted—provides an extra bold, yet still delicate touch. It is patterned for sizes toddler through adult.
For the hat use 100% worsted weight wool that will felt. The largest size will need about 230 yards.
For the flowers use fingering weight yarn. Estimate 60 yards per flower. (these are felted, too)
Needles: US16-24" circular size US10; double pointed needles same size. Size 2 straight needles for making the flowers.
